According to the PA Treasury, 1 in 10 Pennsylvania residents has unclaimed property waiting for them!
The Allegheny County Sheriff's Office recently posted an updated list of local unclaimed funds. Officials say the money is available due to a Sheriff's Sale of Real Estate. If the funds are not claimed, they will transferred over to the State Treasury Office.

The PA Treasury office also manages a listing of unclaimed funds. It notes that they're currently seeking the owners of more than $3.4 billion in unclaimed property. They say the funds go missing often for things as simple as a misspelled name or an out-of-date address.
