Penguins Activate Defenseman Olli Maatta from Injured Reserve

The Pittsburgh Penguins have activated defenseman Olli Maatta from injured reserve, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Maatta will be a game-time decision for tonight’s 7:00 PM home game against the Nashville Predators, per head coach Mike Sullivan.

Maatta has missed the past 21 games since suffering an upper-body injury after absorbing a hit during a 4-1 road victory on February 11 against the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center. Maatta has skated in 55 games this year, producing 13 points (1G-12A) and a plus-7.

The Penguins will take the ice tonight at PPG Paints Arena riding a three-game winning streak, and they are coming off of a four-game road trip where they earned seven of a possible eight points (3-0-1).
