Mötley Crüe Guitarist Mick Mars Is Retiring From Touring

Mötley Crüe guitarist Mick Mars will no longer be touring with the band.

In statement released to Variety, a band spokesperson cites Mick's "ongoing painful struggle with Ankylosing Spondylitis (A.S.)."

He will remain a member of the band, but is unable to keep dealing with "the rigors of the road." A.S. is described as "an extremely painful and crippling degenerative disease, which affects the spine."

The band has not yet named the touring guitarist who'll replace Mars, but there have been rumors floating around saying it could be John 5.
