This past weekend on Sunday, the band announced that White would not take part in the Close To the Edge 50th anniversary U.K. tour next month due to "current health issues."

White also played drums in several English bands in the 1960s before getting an invite to join Ginger Baker’s Airforce in 1968 after the break-up of Cream.

John Lennon also used him for the first live performance of the Plastic Ono Band in 1969.

White joined Yes on July 27, 1972, replacing Bill Buford, and played with all the different versions of the group since.

He was 72 years old.
