Last week we found out that Lynyrd Skynyrd's Gary Rossington had heart valve replacement surgery at the end of July, which forced the band to postpone a couple shows this past weekend on their "Last of the Street Survivors Tour" so he could rest and make a full recovery before getting back on stage.
There were apparently some rumors about the tour floating around on social media and message boards after the news broke, so the band decided to release an open letter style statement to their fans on their Facebook page.
The post (which you can in its' entirety below) said "The band has every intention to finish off the Farewell Tour in 2020." It also mentioned that they are "recording a studio album and will release new music at some point," and closed with "PS- Gary is healing and feeling better and we hope to see you all next week in Irvine!"
Skynyrd is scheduled to return to the stage this Friday night in California.
