Glenn Frey Would Have Been 70 Today, He Died At 67

I remember when Glenn Frey died on January 18th 2016, I was on the air and Twitter exploded with all the Glenn Frey death reports. But we had to be sure we weren't spreading false information. Before I announced it on DVE, we checked, double-checked, then waited. Within about 10 minutes we verified, sadly, Glenn had indeed died, in a NYC hospital at the age of 67. The Eagles themselves knew Glenn was dying in November of 2015, 2 months earlier, and that he would never get out of that hospital alive, but the rest of us found out when he actually did die. And Glenn Frey was one sick guy when he died, rheumatoid arthritis (extremely painful), ulcerative colitis (the worst pain ever), and then he developed pneumonia. Doctors had put Glenn in a medically induced coma after going thru gastrointestinal surgery. We all had tears in our eyes when The Eagles put up an image of a smiling Glenn Grey at PPG Paints this past July.  Getty
