Recorded in just under 1 week, and in The Doors Workshop in West Hollywood, "L.A. Woman" would be the last album with Jim Morrison, who had in fact, already left for Paris the month before, in March of 1971. Jim sang the vocals for the "L.A. Woman" songs, standing in the door way of the bathroom at The Doors Workshop, as the band recorded the album. He was at the time, drinking 36 cans of beer A DAY. The late Ray Manzarek believed Jim was saying, crying "goodbye" as you listen to his vocals on the title track, "L.A. Woman." The album came out today in 1971, Jim would be dead in a bathtub in Paris less than 3 months later.
