Cliff Hovis, President, Hovis Auto Supply, Inc.

Cliff Hovis is President of Hovis Auto Supply, Inc., a family owned chain of auto parts stores which he runs with his brother and business partner, Curt Hovis.  In addition to his duties as President, he is a former member of the Distributor Council for Goodyear Engineered Products and Customer Advisory Council for Delphi.  Cliff is active in the business’ relationship with Federated Auto Parts.  He holds positions on both the Executive Committee and the Board of Governors, where he previously served as Chairman. Cliff was also the 2011 recipient of the Art Fisher Memorial Membership Award, 2014 Industry Advocacy Award, 2016 National Accounts Award and the 2017 Marketing Excellence Award.

In addition to his roles with Federated Auto Parts, Cliff has been active with the Automotive Wholesalers Distributor Association.  He is on the Board of Governors for AWDA, Education Committee Member, past Secretary, past Vice Chairman, Chairman, and now serves as Immediate Past Chairman. Furthermore, Cliff has the honor of being a board member for the University of the Aftermarket Foundation and Government Affairs.  At AAPEX Cliff was presented with AWDA’s 2016 Art Fisher Memorial Scholarship Award for training and education with the auto care industry. 

Cliff is a 1988 graduate of Grove City College.  As an established business professional in the community, he has served at the college on the Entrepreneurship Advisory Council, as Business Plan Judge for the Entrepreneurship Competition, as a Marketing Competition Plan Judge, on numerous Human Resource panels, and as a guest speaker for marketing classes.

In May of 2013, Cliff was presented The 2013 Mort Schwartz Excellence in Education Award at the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) in Chicago. The award recognizes the Hovis brothers for supporting the aftermarket by constructing Hovis Technical Training Center in Grove City, Pa., a 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art training facility.  This facility was in response to the need for trained vehicle service and repair technicians, and paint and body specialists. More than 5,000 technicians have been trained in the center since it opened.

A recipient of the Boy Scouts of America Distinguished Citizen Award, Cliff has played an active role in his local Boy Scout Council.  Cliff was also awarded the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver Award, the highest award a volunteer can receive in Scouting.  Starting as Den Leader, he also held the position of Scout Master of his son’s Boy Scout troop.  In addition, he served as District Chairman of the Chief Kiondashawa District and was on the Executive Board for French Creek Council, BSA.

Originally from Clintonville, PA, Cliff now resides in Grove City with his wife Lynn.  Their son, daughter-in-law and daughter are also active in the family business.  He and Lynn attend and are active at Center Presbyterian Church in Grove City.
