You figure touring for major rock bands can be grueling, but maybe we don't consider what can happen when the band hits another country with a very different culture than the U.S....on a recent podcast, Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes told the stories of two tour stops he called the scariest he ever experienced....one involved a show in Moscow as the Soviet Union was crumbling...he said the Crowes were on the bill for the Monsters of Rock, with Metallica, Pantera, and AC/DC, and military were everywhere...he couldn't find a bathroom, and when he took a leak behind some trucks, a soldier was screaming in Russian at him, and kicked him violently in the small of his back...the other incident happened in Chile in 1996 when a show was attended again by lots of military, as well as Chilean dictator Pinochet....get the details of both of these crazy shows from Robinson here: https://ultimateclassicrock.com/chris-robinson-violent-black-crowes-concerts/
