Huge Rock Bands with Huge Album Flops

Sometimes the timing is wrong, the material is wrong, or the personnel is wrong, but even the most successful rock artists and bands have put out a record that misses the mark, and is a dud....Van Halen put out their 11th studio album and called it "Van Halen III" for some reason, featuring the singer that had to follow the departed Sammy Hagar (and David Lee Roth before him), Gary Cherone--total flop. The only Van Halen album not to sell over a million copies. There was Peter Frampton's "I'm in You," which was ambitious enough, but couldn't come close to the power and excitement of "Frampton Comes Alive," which had come out just one year before, and sold eight times the number of copies...the Cars followed their super successful album "Heartbeat City" with 1987's "Door to Door"....the band sounded like they didn't care that much and neither did fans...have you ever heard the first single from that album, "You Are the Girl"?
