Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy has a ton of fans, but even if you're one of them, you may not know these ten facts about Phil: that the "Boys" from the big hit "The Boys Are Back in Town" were guys that were in a street gang in Manchester, England, that used to hang out in a bar Lynott's mom ran....that the Thin Lizzy song "Whiskey in the Jar," that Metallica eventually also recorded, was never supposed to be a big song for the band. They wanted their record company to just release it as a B-side of another Thin Lizzy single, because they didn't think the Irish folk song represented their rockin' image the way they wanted. The record company disagreed, and put the song out as a single, and it did great....and did you know that Lynott was such a big ZZ Top fan, he admittedly stole from their sound when he wrote his song, "Leave This Town"....his words: "ripped off ZZ Top for all they're worth..." more about those, plus 7 more things you may not know about Phil Lynott, here: https://ultimateclassicrock.com/thin-lizzy-phil-lynott-10-things/
