Whether you started collecting things because you loved them, or because you thought they'd be good investments, experts are saying there's just some stuff that's not worth cluttering up your house with anymore, because the return is low... Vinyl albums take up a ton of space, but unless they are rare, or are certain vintage albums in great condition, you're not gonna get much for them. Remember when everybody went nuts collecting beanie babies in the mid 1990's? The craze made some money for some folks who bought them, then immediately flipped them...and then the craze was over--so was the value. Model train sets are so so plentiful with so many people trying to unload them, only the very rare sets bring in a large amount of money. Star Wars toys and action figures? If they're from the 1970's and not mass produced, you have a shot at a great return...if they're modern and mass produced, don't bother collecting for investment purposes.
