Rockers often want to create album covers with a bit of risk or controversy to get attention, and sometimes it freaks the record companies out and they're forced to literally go back to the drawing board, or omit the risky part of the cover design....David Bowie was made to omit the genitalia of the dog part of his man/dog persona on the cover of "Diamond Dogs"...the Scorpions' "Lovedrive" album initially featured a model whose bare breast was connected to a man's hand with stretched-out bubble gum, then the cover was changed to simply show a blue scorpion....the Beatles' "Meet the Beatles" album originally the guys posing in butcher coats, with parts of baby dolls and raw meat....it was changed by the record company to the guys dressed conservatively around a steamer trunk....The flames that surround Lynyrd Skynyrd on the cover of "Street Survivors" were removed when, three days after the album's release, members of the band were killed in a plane crash....
