Rob Halford of Judas Priest goes back and forth between being pissed that his metal band has been excluded for induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the Performer's category, and being happy they're being honored at all this year with the "Musical Excellence Award." Commenting in a recent interview about not being inducted along with the performer class of 2022: Pat Benatar, Eurythmics, Carly Simon, Duran Duran, Eminem and Dolly Parton, Halford says initially, he was "pissed." ....but then "some days, I go, no, it doesn't matter. We're in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Be grateful. Shut the hell up." It still burns him that metal bands like Black Sabbath and Metallica have made it in with the performers, but Priest hasn't, saying "Judas Priest is the Rodney Dangerfield of Heavy Metal."
Here's more of what Rob has to say about all this.
