10 Things You May Not Know About Led Zeppelin IV

Part of the huge appeal to Zeppelin fans back in the 1970's for Zep's fourth album, called by some "Zoso," is the mysterious unexplained cover art with no sight of the band's name or the album name, and the ominous, and/or haunting sound of many of the songs...The guy who wrote the book "Led Zeppelin FAQ: All That's Left to Know About the Greatest Hard Rock Band Ever," George Case, says most of the decisions the band made on artwork, as well as the songs, were done pretty rapidly, without putting a lot of mystery behind the meanings, since the band cranked out four albums in two years. As for the mysterious sounds at the beginning of the tune "Black Dog"--that's three different audio tapes of guitars being synched up. Jimmy Page decided to leave it in. As for the mysterious symbols on the cover depicting each member of the band: Case says neither John Bonham nor John Paul Jones really cared much which symbol they used--they pretty much said yeah, whatever. Robert Plant picked a a feather in a circle, a symbol from a lost civilization--Jimmy Page picked a symbol depicting Capricorn from the 1500's...next time you hear "When the Levee Breaks," listen how Case says all the music is slightly slowed down to make everything sound bigger and more ominous, except for Plant's vocals, which are at regular speed...check out more about all that, as well as other facts you may not know about Zeppelin IV, here: https://ultimateclassicrock.com/10-things-you-didnt-know-about-led-zeppelin-four/
