Aerosmith has been one of the top rock bands on earth for so long, it's easy to forget just how over their respective careers were in the late 1970's and early 1980's...with the background of drug addiction and huge infighting, particularly between Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, the band followed up their less than killer "Draw the Line" album and non-stop touring in support of that album, with their universally panned album "Night in the Ruts" (the only single from that album: Remember Walking in the Sand) and Perry quitting the band and forming the Joe Perry Project. It wouldn't be until rappers Run-D.M.C. would resurrect Aerosmith's career by doing a duet version and MTV video for "Walk This Way" in July of 1986 that hit big, and with Perry back in the band, Aerosmith releases the future smash album "Permanent Vacation" in August of 1987....here's more.
