It's pretty well known that there was drama and personal soap operas galore throughout the history of Fleetwood Mac from early on in the Lindsey Buckingham/Stevie Nicks era of the band (they joined in late 1974), but a new interview fleshes out the timeline of the Nicks/Buckingham relationship, and how it was already dying when they joined the band. Stevie Nicks tells Tavi Gevinson of the New Yorker that she and Lindsey put their relationship back together, because "if we broke up the second month of being in Fleetwood Mac, it would have blown the whole thing." The couple would break up for good in 1976, and their drama, as well as that of John and Christine McVie splitting up, became the subject matter for the monster hit album "Rumors," especially Stevie's hit about Lindsey, "Dreams," and Lindsey's hit song about Stevie, "Go Your Own Way." Hear lots more from Stevie about all that, here.
