It's well known that many NFL stars are notoriously bad with all that money that gets thrown their way, and some quote a stat that roughly 4 out of 5 players are severely impacted financially or go bankrupt within 2 years of retirement, but some do way worse than others. The website GoBankingRates.com brings up some of the more notorious examples, including wide receiver Terrell Owens, who made about 80 million in the NFL, and lost pretty much all of it buying massive homes and condos and other big ticket items, and having people handle his money who blew it on high risk investments...there's quarterback Vince Young, who, one year after his short 6 year career, was already bankrupt, because of things like once buying all the seats on a plane so he could be alone...like Ravens defensive back Chris McAlister, who ended up broke and living with his parents at one point...and one of the most notorious examples of NFL star excess: wide Receiver Andre Rison back in the 1990's made about 19 million dollars on the field, and lost it all, buying a million dollars worth of jewelry alone, and had his Atlanta mansion burned down by his girlfriend Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, when she set some of his sneakers on fire....more about those, and stories of massive money losses from Johnny Unitas, Dermontti Dawson, Dan Marino, and others, here.
