Some of the biggest classic rock artists are starting to unload the rights to their music catalogs for enormous lump sums of cash, and the latest is ZZ Top, who just sold their publishing catalog and income from royalties to BMG and KKR for a reported 50 million dollars....ZZ actually has a long relationship with BMG, who had been the co-publisher and manager of the ZZ Top catalog, so now ZZ Top walks away with 50 mil....which, actually, gets dwarfed by some recent transactions by other rock stars....Bruce Springsteen sold off his stuff for 500 million, Stevie Nicks 100 million, and Neil Young 150 million...here's more on all that: https://ultimateclassicrock.com/zz-top-sell-catalog-50-million/
