Ozzy Osbourne recently recounted the depth of Black Sabbath's cocaine usage in the early 1970's when he and the band were recording Black Sabbath Vol. 4 in 1972....the website "Ultimate Classic Rck" says it cost rough;y $60,000 to produce the new album, but the band went through $75,000 in cocaine during that time...Ozzy talks about after the initial cocaine rush, he'd become "misery beyond belief"....here's more, including his story about waking up at his mansion, going out to the pool and telling a guy about the great coke they had the night before, and the guy telling Ozzy: "I sold it to you....I work for the Food and Drug (Administration)." And the time they flushed $5,000 of coke down the toilet when they thought they were gonna get busted (it was a false alarm) Here's the rest.
