Bill Passes In PA House To Keep State On Daylight Saving Time

Do you think daylight saving time should be permanent in PA?

The Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed a bill on Monday of this week urging Congress to allow the state to stay on daylight saving time permanently. The bill was sponsored by Rep. Ryan MacKenzie.

According to TribLive, the vote was close, but it passed 101-98, and now PA is among 15 other states calling for the federal law to be changed.

Currently, states cannot decide to make daylight saving time permanent unless it's approved by the federal government. However, states can decide for themselves to stay on Standard Time, and Rep. Russ Diamond is pushing a bill to make that happen.

The bill now moves to the state Senate for approval.
