Pink Floyd dropping a demo for A Momentary Lapse of Reason reissue

Pink Floyd have released the original demo for what became "Yet Another Movie” on their 1987 album A Momentary Lapse of Reason.

David Gilmour, who co-wrote the song with songwriter, keyboardist, producer and film composer Pat Leonard, says, “Pat Leonard and I met up at Astoria in September 1986 a couple of days after I had played on a Bryan Ferry track that he was producing. We had a glass or two of wine and jammed for hours. For some reason that I can no longer remember, I had chosen the fretless bass as my instrument of the day. It turned into a beautiful song.”

Floyd will release a remixed and updated A Momentary Lapse of Reason on October 29th.

Remixed and updated for 2019's The Later Years box set, it is now being released as a standalone album on vinyl, CD, DVD, Blu-ray and digital with stereo and 5.1 mixes.

In addition, for the first time, the album will be presented in 360 Reality Audio, a new immersive music experience that closely mimics the omni-directional soundscape of live musical performance. It will also be released in Dolby Audio and UHD, all of these will continue with other Pink Floyd releases.

When A Momentary Lapse of Reason was updated in 2019, producers David Gilmour and Bob Ezrin dug out some of Richard Wright's original keyboard takes and re-recorded new drum tracks with Nick Mason.

This reissue features a new album cover using an alternative beds photo from the original cover shoot, and they put together a new video for the album's lead track, "Learning to Fly."
