Actor William Hurt has passed away.
Hurt's son, Will, said in a statement to Variety, "“It is with great sadness that the Hurt family mourns the passing of William Hurt, beloved father and Oscar winning actor, on March 13, 2022, one week before his 72nd birthday."
He also added that his father died "peacefully, among family, of natural causes.”
Hurt was best known for his Oscar winning performances in "Kiss of the Spider Woman," "The Big Chill," and "Broadcast News."
He was 71 years old.
