Mike Tomlin And Mason Rudolph Respond To Myles Garrett's Accusations

Mike Tomlin

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has issued a statement in regards to the allegations by Myles Garrett that Mason Rudolph used a racial during the end of the Steelers’ loss to Cleveland on November 14th last year.

Garrett did an interview with ESPN on Thursday after he was reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, and is still standing behind the original accusation he made after the game.

Coach Tomlin said, “I support Mason Rudolph not only because I know him, but also because I was on that field immediately following the altercation with Myles Garrett and subsequently after the game,” Tomlin said. “I interacted with a lot of people in the Cleveland Browns organization – players and coaches. If Mason said what Myles claimed, it would have come out during the many interactions I had with those in the Browns organization. In my conversations, I had a lot of expressions of sorrow for what transpired. I received no indication of anything racial or anything of that nature in those interactions.”

Mason Rudolph also responded to the interview on Saturday morning, calling the allegations “1,000% False” and a “Bold-Faced Lie.”

Rudolph's attorney responded as well and called the accusation “defamatory." He added that Garrett is now “exposed to legal liability.”
