Today in 1973, at a Who concert in San Francisco, Keith Moon washed down a few horse tranquilizers with brandy before taking the stage. He then passed out 2X's behind the drums, Pete Townshend calls out to the crowd for a drummer and a 19 year old Scott Halpin from Iowa steps up to the plate! The Who gave Scott a shot of brandy to help calm his nerves and Scott finished the show playing drums with The Who! Keith Moon would be dead 5 years later and sadly, Scott Halpin died in 2008.
