It was during John Lennon's "Lost Weekend" period 1974 (he and Yoko had split up), that Lennon and Harry Nilsson, both hammered on Brandy Alexanders and cocaine, got thrown out of the Troubadour in West Hollywood for heckling. Heckling Tommy Smothers, of The Smothers Brothers, who once had their own weekly TV show on CBS. On the way out, being physically escorted to the door of the Troubadour, John Lennon reportedly shouted, "Do you know who I am?? I'm Ed Sullivan!"
