Today 1977 Toronto, Keef Busted w/An Oz. Of Heroin

Keith Richards, a heroin addict in 1977, was popped with his equally addicted girlfriend Anita Pallenberg, in Toronto, arriving with The Rolling Stones. Anita was busted immediately at the airport, the Toronto Police waited until later to arrest a zonked out Keef in his hotel room. An OUNCE OF HEROIN. That could be a life sentence back then, and even pleaded down it was still SEVEN YEARS behind bars in a Canadian prison! Keef entered rehab, he was given 1 year probation, 1 year suspended sentence. And he had to return to Toronto within 6 months to perform a free charity concert for the blind, with The Rolling Stones! Had that been you or me 41 years ago, busted with an oz. of heroin in Toronto, we'd still be behind bars!!
