Syd Barrett was an original member of Pink Floyd, he's the one who came up with the band's name "Pink Floyd," for American Blues musicians Pink Anderson and Floyd Council...Syd was around for the band's debut album in 1967 "Piper at The Gates Of Dawn," shortly after, Syd went WAAAY off the deep end, having done too much LSD...In 1968, Syd left Floyd, released a couple solo albums then pretty much completely disappeared until his death in 2006 from diabetes..."See Emily Play," a Pink Floyd song from 1967 features Syd on lead vocals...
