This year, Mister Rogers Neighborhood celebrates 50 years since the show's debut.
A hour-long retrospective called "Mister Rogers: It's You I Like" premieres on PBS, locally on WQED) this Tuesday at 8:00pm.
Various celebrities reveal their favorite memories from the show, while Joe Negri (“Handyman Negri”), David Newell (“Mr. McFeely”) and Joanne Rogers, Fred’s widow, share their personal stories.
n this short preview, the guy makes a great point: Fred Rogers was teaching kids AND adults. So that, if kids had more questions about the subject matter, the parents could have further conversation with the child. In other words....spending more time to help raise the kid.
Pretty brilliant, Mister Rogers! Happy 50th anniversary.
