Around 3:00pm today, the Steelers announced they had released James Harrison, the team's all-time sack leader. The move was made to make room on the 53-man roster for offensive lineman Marcus Gilbert, who is back from his four-game suspension.
Harrison had only played 40 snaps in six games this season.
He can now be claimed off waivers by another NFL team.
