The Pittsburgh Penguins hosted a "Hockey Fights Cancer" night at PPG Paints arena. During on-ice warmups, Penguins players wore special purple jerseys which have been autographed. They will be auctioned to benefit the Mario Lemieux Foundation and UPMC CancerCenter.
Young patients from The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Make-A-Wish Foundation were honored as special guests in the Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin Charity Suites during the awareness night, while the Penguins organization donated a suite for adult patients and cancer survivors from the UPMC CancerCenter.
