Rolling Stone Magazine's Top 100 Metal Albums

'Rolling Stone' magazine has published their Top 100 list of the greatest metal albums of all-time. The biggest debate? What is considered "metal".

Led Zeppelin, Cream and Deep Purple were disqualified due to their “folky, bluesy detours.” AC/DC and Guns N' Roses aren't on the list because they are “hypercharged rock & roll.” And KISS, Alice Cooper and Grand Funk Railroad “in retrospect sound more like hard rock.”

But, Van Halen, Def Leppard, Twisted Sister, Living Colour and Motley Crue were deemed metal enough to make the Top 100.

Three Ozzy/Black Sabbath albums are in the Top 10, according to 'Rolling Stone'.

So, now let the summer-long debate begin!
