CMT Awards Opens With Tribute to Gregg Allman

I'm not a country music fan much, but the CMT Awards did a fitting tribute to Gregg Allman to open broadcast. Gregg was actually a huge fan of country music, and had plenty of friends and fans from that genre.

Derek Trucks was a member of the ABB for over 15 years. On this night, he played Duane Allman's famous "Goldtop" Gibson Les Paul through Duane's through Fillmore East Marshall amp (that Derek now owns).

Along with Trucks on a smokin' version of "Midnight Rider" were three guys trading off on the vocals: Jason Aldean, Darius Rucker (Hootie) and Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum.
