There are some superbands that you just assume have had #1 records. And they haven't. We're talking #1 hit singles, and you'd think Journey had to be in there, but their highest charting song was "Open Arms" at #2. Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love"? #4. Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams"? #4. Surely Creedence Clearwater Revival had a #1 hit. Wrong. They had five, count'em five--#2 hits. R.E.M. never got higher than #4 for "Losing My Religion."
