At long last, Iron Maiden will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year. Fans will tell you the band was ignored for many years, likely because they're a metal band, and it even compelled singer Bruce Dickinson to say the Rock Hall is "an utter, complete load of bullocks", and that if they ever got in, he'd refuse it. Now that it's happened, the band's publicist put out a statement, saying in part "We'd like to thank the Rock and Roll Hall for including us." "Iron Maiden have always been about our relationship with our fans above anything else, including awards and industry accolades. However, having said that, it's always nice to be recognized and honored for any achievements within the music industry." The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony this year will be in Los Angeles November 14th, and Iron Maiden won't be able to attend--they'll be on tour in Australia--here's more: https://ultimateclassicrock.com/iron-maiden-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame-reaction/
