When Rush drummer/lyricist Neil Peart passed away, singer Geddy Lee said the two surviving members of the band couldn't see a scenario where they would ever perform as "Rush" without him. Then came the surprise announcement last year of the upcoming Rush "Fifty Something" reunion tour running June thru December of 2026 (Cleveland in September is the closest to Pittsburgh the tour gets), with drummer Anika Nilles doing the Neil Peart parts. And now, Geddy in a recent interview said he can see new Rush music being created at some point after the tour. He said he originally envisioned making new music on his own, but when he got together with guitarist Alex Lifeson and "when we started jamming, I started seeing the possibility of doing something with Alex." As for possible contributions on drums from Nilles, Geddy says "it would be fun to see what (she) can do in a creative situation, like, that would be fun."
