Just a few days after the Who issues a statement that they had fired their drummer for the past 29 years--Zak Starkey (son of Ringo), they've done a 180 and rehired him...The band originally said Zak was asked to leave because he was overplaying, so much so that singer Roger Daltrey stopped singing in the middle of "The Song is Over" at London's Royal Albert Hall, saying he needed to hear the key of the song, but could not because the drummer was so loud in his ears. Pete Townsend has released a new statement, saying "News Flash! Who Backs Zak!" And the Who guitarist adds: There has been some communication issues, personal and private, on all sides, that needed to be dealt with, and these have been aired happily." As for Zak, he posted "V grateful to be part of the Who family. Thanks Roger and Pete xx." Here's more details : https://ultimateclassicrock.com/zak-starkey-back-the-who/
