Hard to believe that Zak Starkey (son of Ringo) has been the Who's drummer for 29 years, but that's over now....the band has fired Starkey because of reported tensions between Zak and the band, most obviously between him and singer Roger Daltrey, who accused Zak onstage at London's Royal Albert Hall of overplaying. Daltrey said to the crowd: "To sing that song, I do need to hear the key and I can't. All I've got is drums going boom boom boom. I can't sing to that. I'm sorry guys." A formal statement from the Who read in part: "They have nothing but admiration for him and wish him the very best for his future."
