In a recent interview, Ted Nugent talked about how on his first solo album, the record executives, the producer, and his band staged a sort of "intervention" about an hour before the first recording session for the record, and told him they all voted that Nugent's signature song "Stranglehold" shouldn't be on the album because "it doesn't have a chorus, and nobody is gonna play an eight minute song with all that guitar part in it." Among other things Nugent answered back with, he said he had "a recording session in about an hour. Let's go to the studio because I have a song to record. The first one is gonna be f-ing Stranglehold." Here's more from Nuge about the goings on that almost had us never hearing "Stranglehold" on that first album: https://ultimateclassicrock.com/ted-nugent-stranglehold-label/
