I think we all know that some bands had different names before they got famous, but the sheer number of bands that started out with one, or multiple, other names is pretty mindboggling....Crazy to think Kiss started out as a folk band with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley called Rainbow, then when they found out about Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, they changed their name to Wicked Lester...when Peter Criss joined the group coming from a band called "Lips," those guys went glam with the makeup and called themselves "Kiss"...Pink Floyd started as "The Tea Set"...after changing the name a few times, Syd Barrett renamed the band after blues artists Pink Anderson and Floyd Council....Aerosmith used to be "The Jam Band," Queen was "Smile," Van Halen was "Genesis" and "Mammoth," and Rush was "Hadrian"....find out how these and a bunch more bands came to be known how we know them today, here: https://ultimateclassicrock.com/classic-rock-band-names/
