Ian McDonald was on the scene at the inception of two of the biggest rock bands ever, but never seemed to stay with one project for a long time....Co-founder of King Crimson in the late 1960's (he was a big part of the epic "In the Court of the Crimson King", playing tons of instruments, including flute, saxophone and keyboards) and of Foreigner in the 1970's (He's all over their first three albums: "Foreigner", "Double Vision" and "Head Games") McDonald also guest performed on other artists' records--he's on T.Rex's Bang a Gong (Get It On), and played with Asia, Steve Hackett, and others....Ian McDonald passed away Wednesday at his home in New York City at age 75...no cause of death was given...here's more, including some great insight from McDonald himself on what it was like to be part of King Crimson, Foreigner, and more: https://ultimateclassicrock.com/ian-mcdonald-king-crimson-foreigner-dead/
