An interesting twist on the old theme, where a big time rock band says they're retiring and goes on a farewell tour, then changes their mind. When Foreigner toured with Styx and came to Star Lake last July, they were billing it as the Foreigner Farewell Tour. Current singe Kelly Hansen says he was quitting the band after the tour (which is still going on) because he was getting too old to sing those high notes in the Foreigner song catalog. But when another guy in the band, Luis Maldonado steeped in to do vocals when Hansen had to miss part of the tour, and other guys n the band thought his vocals were great, and they now will move on as a band with Maldonado singing the songs we first loved with Lou Gramm as the front man of Foreigner. Original Foreigner member Mick Jones, who retired from the road because of Parkinson's Disease, and Gramm support the moves the band is making. Here's more, including comments from Foreigner bassist Jeff Pilson on how Maldonado wowed the other guys in the band with a voice they didn't know he had: https://ultimateclassicrock.com/foreigner-no-farewell-tour/
