WalletHub.com recently completed a study that ranked the states in terms of how hard their residents work.
The study considered 10 key indicators, which ranged from average workweek hours to share of workers with multiple jobs to annual volunteer hours per resident.
Each indicator was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the “hardest-working.” Based on those scores, each state was given a weighted average then ranked by total score.
In the end, Pennsylvania came in 37th with a score of 37.57.
The top 5 were:
- Alaska - 68.63
- North Dakota - 68.26
- Nebraska - 60.45
- South Dakota - 56.81
- Texas - 55.83
The bottom 5 were:
- Rhode Island - 31.07
- Connecticut - 30.87
- New York - 30.60
- West Virginia - 30.11
- New Mexico - 29.53
