After the order from Gov. Wolf, officials with Allegheny County wanted to clarify:
This afternoon, @GovernorTomWolf issued a Stay-at-Home order for a number of counties, including @Allegheny_Co. There is no curfew in place. This order emphasizes that individuals in the county, to the extent possible, should stay at home and distance themselves from others.
Additionally, based on the Stay-At-Home order the City of Pittsburgh Department of Parks & Recreation are temporarily closing all playgrounds. See their tweet below.

The PA Department of Health held a press conference today to share updates on how they are working to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 in the state. See notes below. You can watch the full press conference here.
Dr Levine:
- As of 12 am this morning. 165 new cases announced. (Additional stats in original article below. They have been updated.)
- Approximately 60 Pa residents needed health care. That’s about 10% of people who have tested positive.
- Six deaths in PA.
- Every two days we are more than doubling the number of new cases showing exponential growth.
Gov. Wolf:
- Stay-At-Home Order issued for six counties:
- Allegheny, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Monroe, or Montmongery counties.
- In place for at least two weeks.
- Takes effect as of 8pm tonight (3/23/2020)
- Must stay in your home, unless not leaving your home, could endanger a life.
- More guidance on allowable activities will be released by his staff.
- From Gov wolf when asked about activities, “...if what they're doing is not necessary and it could possibly lead to somebody else getting this virus, they shouldn’t do it. If what they’re doing is is something that absolutely has to take place to make life sustainable for them, like going to the food store, or the drug store then by all means they should do that."
- Going outside for exercise is ok as long as you maintain social distancing.
- School Closures extended for at least two weeks.
- This applies statewide.
- Before we can recover, we must survive.
- Everyone should act as if they already have Covid-19
- Stay six feet away from each other.
- Avoid having people in your home.
- Avoid having unwashed hands.
- Avoid leaving your home.
- Avoid sneezing in your hands.
- Stay Calm. Stay Home. Stay Safe

Pennsylvania Department of Health updated the statewide Covid-19 count to 644, and Allegheny County announced they would be issuing a Stay-At-Home Monday afternoon.
Local area positive case's:
- Allegheny: 48
- Westmoreland: 6
- Beaver: 3
- Butler: 5
- Fayette: 1
- Mercer: 1
Deaths as result of Covid-19:
- Allegheny:1
- Lackawanna: 1
- Monroe: 1
- Montgomery: 1
- Northampton: 2
So far, 6595 have tested negative for Covid-19.
PA State Rep. Jason Ortitay and Speaker Mike Turzai announced via their Facebook Pages that the county would be issuing a stay-at-home order for Allegheny County at 2 pm today. That order will then go into effect at 8 pm tonight.
"At 2 p.m., a stay-at-home order will be issued for Allegheny County. It will go into effect at 8 p.m. tonight (Monday, March 23) and will be in effect for two weeks.
THIS DOES NOT REALLY CHANGE ANYTHING. PEOPLE SHOULD STAY HOME UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.
People can continue to work if they're on the life-sustaining-business list or have received a waiver. Also, residents can go out for food, emergencies, exercise and volunteering."
