Army Week Pittsburgh

The U.S. Army is hosting the first-ever Army Week Pittsburgh, May 4-11, and invites Pittsburghers to come meet the Army. With a little something for everyone, this is the Army you haven’t met yet. Events across the city will include performances by Army Bands, aerial jumps by the Black Daggers- the U.S. Army’s Special Operations Parachute Demonstration Team, tactical and engineering equipment displays, and lectures by senior Army personnel at area universities, just to name a few. Make sure you stop by Point State Park, Saturday, May 4, at 10 am, and right after the Pittsburgh Marathon 5K to catch Army Band performances and check out the latest in Army tech, equipment and gadgets, and a jump by the Black Daggers! Here are a few events happening May 4, at Point State Park: May 4: • Kickoff ceremony at 10 am at Point State Park with a performance from the U.S. Army Drill Team and a parachute demonstration jump by the U.S. Army’s Special Operations Parachute Demonstration Team- The Black Daggers. • Check out cutting-edge equipment used on the battlefield and meet your Army and your Pennsylvania National Guard at Point State Park, just after the Pittsburgh Marathon 5K. You can even join in for an Army fitness challenge! May 5: • Come visit the U.S. Army’s Adventure Trailer outside the Pirates game at PNC Park on Federal Street! Game starts at 1:35 pm. • The Army salutes the runners showing up on Race Day! Be sure you catch the Army out and about on Marathon Day. Don’t be shy, come say hi and #MeetYourArmy!
