We had a good laugh about the graphic a few days ago, but it looks like the higher-ups at KDKA-TV didn't share the sentiment. The graphic in question was a lower thirds that flashed briefly on screen, which read - "Tom Brady, Known Cheater". (See video below)
SI announced this morning that the CBS affiliate had released the employee responsible. They shared this statement with Sports Illustrated.
“While fans are entitled to have personal opinions, we have a journalistic responsibility to provide unbiased reporting,” KDKA said in a statement to SI.com. “The graphic that appeared Monday violated our news standards. The individual who created the graphic no longer works for KDKA-TV.”
