Paul John Vasquez dead

Actor Paul John Vasquez has passed away. He was 48.

"This news has come as a surprise to us. Our hearts are heavy. He was a kind, creative and loving man. He will be missed," Vasquez's rep provided in a statement to Fox News in light of the entertainer's sudden passing.

According to TMZ, Vasquez, who rose to popularity for his small roles on television shows such as NYPD Blue and CSI: NY, died Monday evening (September 24) from an apparent heart attack.

Insiders told the celebrity gossip outlet Vasquez was discovered unconscious at his father's home in San Jose, California, where paramedics were called to the scene but were unable to resuscitate him.

His cause of death remains under investigation.

A writer and producer, Vasquez moved to Hollywood to pursue his acting career after high school graduation in 1988. He made his TV debut in Private Eye that same year.

In 2011, he starred in two episodes of the popular FX series Sons of Anarchy. He is the second actor to pass from the show.

Vasquez's costar, Alan O'Neill, was found dead by his girlfriend inside his apartment in Los Angeles in June. The L.A. County Coroner’s Office determined the Irish actor, 47, died accidentally from complications from head trauma as a result of being intoxicated.

Rest in peace, Paul John Vasquez.
