Wiz Khalifa's Mother Sues Amber Rose For Defamation

Wiz Khalifa's mother, Katie Wimbush-Polk, is suing her former daughter-in-law, Amber Rose, for defamation because of an alleged phone call where Rose spoke ill about Wimbush-Polk to a third party, The Washington County Observer-Reporter reports.

According to the news outlet, the model made this "profanity-laced" call on June 19. Wimbush-Polk's lawyer says that this call “impute(d) criminality,” which is “incompatible with her status as a grandmother and her status as a volunteer mentoring at-risk youth.”

Though the number Rose called was linked to an Wimbush-Polk account, a former employee and friend of Khalifa's mom, Danesa Letic, had the phone when this happened. Lectic's 5-year-old niece was the one who answered the call and that's when Rose “launched into a profane attack.”  The toddler then gave the phone to her aunt.

The lawsuit claims that Rose continued to slam Wimbush-Polk for allowing "her own child, Dorien, to die" and also said that she wasn't fit to babysit her and Khalifa's son, Sebastian. If you recall, the rapper's transgender sister, Dorien Thomaz, passed away on Feb. 20, 2017 due to complications from lymphoma.

The suit also says that Rose made this call because the model believed that Wimbush-Polk reported her to child services, which Khalifa's mother denies. The Washington County Observer-Reporter reads: "Wimbush-Polk claimed Levonchuck’s statements were malicious, tended to harm' her reputation, lowered her in the estimation of the community or deterred others from associating or dealing with her, and disputes the claim she had let Dorien Thomaz die caused her to be humiliated and suffer severe mental anguish."

Wimbush-Polk is now suing for more than $50,000 in damages.
