Steve Miller Guitarist Says Steve Isn't Lying About Tour Cancellation

Steve Miller put out a social media post last week saying his upcoming tour has been cancelled because of "the combination of extreme heat, unpredictable flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes and massive forest fires" that make risks for the band, crew and audience "unacceptable." Some fans and rock critics have pushed back, saying ticket sales are low, and that's the real reason. Miller's long time side guitarist, Kenny Lee Lewis, has jumped in to defend Miller, saying these outdoor shows with now extreme temperatures are insanely difficult for the band and crew, especially Steve Miller: "It's too frickin' hot for an 81-year-old to go out on that stage as temperatures keep breaking records." Lewis cites watching Miller hanging over a railing in Atlanta on last year's outdoor tour trying to "stave off heat exhaustion," and saying that same show they had to send a crew member to the hospital with a mini stroke.
