Retired Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger joined Randy Baumann and the DVE Morning show earlier today to clarify his comments recently published in the Post-Gazette about former teammates having a "me-first" mentality, saying:
“I wasn’t trying to bash anybody specifically, I agree with him (Cam Heyward) and I should’ve been more clear. The majority of the guys on that team are team first guys.”
Ben also credited Antonio Brown as being the best receiver he's played with (along with Heath Miller) and how he still thinks his game-winning pass to Santonio Holmes in Super Bowl XLIII doesn't get the credit it's due.
Plus, he shared a look at life after football, what he misses most (or least) about the game, and practicing his first pitch performance at the Pirates game tomorrow night.
“Like Jerome (Bettis) said, ‘if football was just on Sundays, I’d probably keep doing it.’ But the mental side and the preparation and going to camp - I’m not missing that at all.”
